Yep. People put a great amount of work in it. They did a fantastic job.

I sincerely hope that Preservation will be staged as a musical one day... God hear you, Martin53
But also the opera-rock "Schoolboys In Disgrace"
He was about to make a few years ago a musical of Schoolboys In Disgrace with the help of Ray Davies, but did not carry out the musical that would be directed by Jack White. And we stayed with the desire. I hope one day it will be done. And the Preservation works in West Side Story type movement. It would be a great musical event.

www.50thirdand3rd.com/classic-music-review-preservation-acts-1-2-kinks/I think the same thing he says on that website. This work was not done with the intention to create great hits, nor songs for the radio and not even to sell million copies. But create brilliant songs to create a great Operetta. Ray Davies did the less conventional project of his entire career, and therefore did not have that recognition that would deserve the most ambitious and glamorous project, and possibly the most creative of his entire artistic career. (Despite not being among his top five jobs, sounds nice and different from the rest).

42 years later, Mr Flash becomes the Donald Tramp of the XX century ... It was already known by some that this play was more original than any conventional album that always sound more than the same and did not contribute anything. savagejukebox.blogspot.com.es/2016/10/goodbye-freedom-hello-fear-preservation.htmlPossibly The Biggest Musical Series of Pop-Rock [The Kinks We Are Village Green Preservation Society / Preservation Act 1 & Preservation Act 2]

Preservation says it all. It's timeless. It reflects the past, it focuses on the present and it anticipates the future.

A relaunch of „Preservation“ should be done. Either a great box-set or it should be staged as a musical.
Thanks for your kind words about my new avatar, Loren! Love it too!

Martin53, I prefer each separate album in their respective years. But I would like this great work to be projected in a musical work moving in full. As Dave Davies said that possibly any day is done in that type of West Side Story ...

Great idea - meanwhile let's hope that a deluxe editon of Preservation will see the light of day.

Martin53, would certainly have been done but would have mistreated the critics on duty who have mistreated him and continue to mistreat him and have not heard or finished listening. Remember that the work Preservation only has a defect and has been the bad press the rest is a fantastic work musical work. Ray Davies commented that this great project has been totally misunderstood by a good sector of the public and criticism.

Boston Rock Opera doing the complete work of Preservation Act 2 in 1993. Then one decade later it was done in a way to the most pure style Broadway, in a stage with very beautiful design, much styling and spectacular sound as it deserved this wonderful work Created by Ray Davies. Thank God we are many who love this underestimated and misunderstood Preservation, among them these guys who have always supported this magnificent work on several occasions.
This version is much earlier and is not as spectacular as they did in 2008. But for lovers of this work is worth.

Definitely the real estate parallel with Trump (not to mention the real-life evangelical Mr. Blacks) makes Preservation a morality play for this era.
It was so ahead of its time.
