I like the Blue Aeroplanes' version of Big Sky from the tribute cd, The Modern Genius of Ray Davies.
I'm going to have recommend against Southern Culture on the Skids' cover of Muswell Hillbilly. I thought it'd be a good mix, but they sound like they just phoned it in.

Hmmm...I think that phoned-it-in quality is part of Southern Culture's charm!

I like Green Day's version of Tired of Waiting, but is practically note for note the same as the original - can't improve on perfection.

Sad to say, I was disappointed...it lacks emotion...like moo-zac! Found this which is a French group CARBEL...different arrangement....see if ya like it...

Well, I'm a newbie here, but I will say it at the risk of ridicule: though I liked the attention it got the band at the time, I did not like Van Halen's 'You Really Got Me'. My favorite covers are the Jam's tune, and the Beat Farmers' live '20th Century Man'. Though I am a fan of the Pretenders, I'm not nuts about their cover of 'Stop Your Sobbing'.

I agree with you absolutely (even though Nick Lowe produced Stop your Sobbing). I don't like the Pretenders' I Go To Sleep either.

I also agree. But I have to say I tend to agree with Holly. ;D
