I'm glad youre enjoying the sports John! I wish I could engage more in this conversation but I'm afraid I'm not a big sports fan and don't know much about sports! I'm happy that it makes you happy though! Yes, the board does seem to have been quiet doesn't it? Very, very quiet sleepwalker ! The posting spate you are on in the last few minutes probably matched the activity since Thursday night ! It made me wonder if this was really Memorial Day weekend in the US and not last week ! I'm just especially glad for the Bama softball team because they faced death and destruction wisking literally a few hundred yards away from them and they've helped a lot in the community with the recovery! School was cancelled for the rest of the semester and it had to be hard to get up for playing games; but they took the approach that they could inspire and cheer up the community by going for a championship and they've done that; even if they don't ultimately win it all !

Well hopefully things will pick up a little John I expected to have quite a lot to catch up on but it seems like postings are down a little Some important milestones though - like Tim reaching 2000 posts and Mr Lennie celebrating his birthday! It sounds like the Bama softball team care about their home state and want to bring the community together I know you're passionate about supporting them John, so I hope that they do you proud!

Wow, I saw the highlights just now; what a tough loss for the Bruins in Overtime Smiley ! There was actually a story on the local Montgomery news about an owner of a Shclotsky's restaurant who was a Vancouver native and had a sign on the front of the business saying 'Go Canucks'. You probably couldn't find a more non-hockey oriented area in North America than here so it was quite the action of a devoted fan to post that message on a store sign !

Yes, It was a very tough loss for the Bruins, again, in overtime this past Saturday. I will never give up, never surrender to those pesky Canucks. LOL.. good to see that the Canadian game can still be loved in all parts of this great nation. BJohn, I hope your team goes ALL THE WAY!! Sorry again Sleepwalker. I would feel the same if you stated discussing the finer points of Cricket!! XX Happy JUNE!

Please don't apologise Smiley! My little brother is a big football fan and whilst I might not appreciate it the way he does, I undertand that he's very passionate about it If it makes you and John and many others happy then that is the main thing And I know absolutely nothing about cricket (apart from what I learned from Ray! ;D) so no need to worry that I might spontaneously feel like discussing cricket!

Smiley, good luck on the Bruins making a stirring comeback in the series ! Unfortunately, Bama fell to their rival Florida in 2 games in the semis and finished #3 in the nation ! Maybe next year they'll grab the elusive title and the players (students too) won't have to deal with any tornados !

Those Big Bad Bruins are still alive. But I think they should have spared a few goals for the next game . ;D

Those Big Bad Bruins are still alive. But I think they should have spared a few goals for the next game . ;D Yes, the game got VERY ugly tonight. Let's hope they ALL settle down and get back to the Greatest Show on ICE!!! Sorry your team fell today BJohn. But Third is ABFAB!!! Way to go! Sleepwalker, then it's a deal, we shall not discuss the finer points of Cricketing or batting or the Demon Bowler!!!

Whoa, I saw some highlights last night and the Bruins absolutely dogged the Canucks 4-0 to tie the series 2-2. It looks to me like the Bruins have 'old mo' squarely on their side ? The ever important Game 5 of a 7 Game series will probably determine how much 'mo' is really in their MOJO !

My thought right now is that I hope I'm not dreaming ! I was just given the news that my dad found out in his 6 week checkup that he gained 15.2 pounds ! Amazing, and I would have never allowed myself to think this optimistically. In early June last year, he weighed 119.8 pounds and now he weighs a shade under 163 1/2 pounds ! He had the slipup last period when he lost over 6 pounds, but blew past the 160 pound barrier I had long set in my mind as a milestone !
