without question Dave was an Innovator, but he also gives credit to Link Wray too...Rumble!

I became aware of how innovative Wray was when I got his Mr. Guitar boxset several years ago and read the informative notes! 'Jack the Ripper'; well Wray pencil holed his amp to get that sound so the song title sort of 'speaks' for itself! It's good to know Dave acknowledges Wray so forthrightly; but I'm not surprised; Dave is a good guy and I'm sure he feels a kinship to Wray because they are both vastly underrated!

Like Ray was in songwriting, Dave was ahad of the herd in guitar sound.
