One more idea I had is for people to talk about the last KinKs show they saw and any specific memory or interesting detail they have of the show? Mine would be one of many memories from the last KinKs show in the U.S. August 1, 1995 in Westbury Long Island ( Not counting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction a month later that I was also at ) but anyway at the Westbury show I remember that Dave came out and did a soaring rip your heart our rocking version of " Good Golly Miss Molly " that made you believe he owned that song !

The last time I've seen the Kinks on stage was on May 23, 1983, at the Montréal Forum. That happened to be the last time they played in Montréal. For the occasion, 3 friends and myself were wearing Kinks badges I had made. They looked pretty cool and lots of people asked us where they came from as they'd not seen them at the entrance. They all wanted to buy them from us !
That was a hell of a show ! The best I have ever seen. We were standing right against the stage between Ray and Dave. I remember Dave coming towards me and playing the riffs to "Come Dancing" while he was looking at me straight in the eyes with a large smile.
Another special memory I have of that show is the fact that their last encore song was a Beatles tune (think it was "I saw her standing there").
Great memories !

Here's a weird memory. It was 1983 or 84. Me and the little one were seeing the Kinks in Chicago and before the show as people were coming in they played Autumn Almanac over the PA. Not too many people recognized it. It wasn't a song that got any airplay on radio thats for sure.
AA has always been one of my favorites and I thought it was way cool to hear it.

It was really to sad becasue, at the time I never thought it was the last. Poplar Creek, west suburban Chicago area September 1993. I'm sure Mr. & Mrs T were there too! Ray had hurt himself in a concert a few nights before and was using a cane on and off stage.

I wonder if was The Stone Poney show in Asbury Park, New jersey where Ray hurt himself He tripped over some wires on stage when he and Dave almosty came to blows on stage during the heat of the battle...I leaned on to the stage and put my arms up between them in a motion like okay go back to your corners and I was yelling " don't do it "...that 2nd part of the 93 club tour was really intense. Tempers and emotions were really running hot at all those shows however my crow beak has to remain sealed although I have let some slip out over the years here and there but it sure did make for one hell of a great tour...Sharon don't feel too bad about missing the 95 shows because the 93 club tour was definitely better!
