I love lists, my own and other peoples. I have been going to concerts since the late 60's, wow I am getting old, and in no particular order here are my top 5 concerts :
1 Led Zep at The Mountford Hall in Liverpool in 1971. This was a thank you tour they did of colleges and universities for supporting them over the years. This was the first concert of the tour and, as far as I can see, this is the first time they ever played songs from Zep 4 live before an audience, a , month before the album was released.
2 Yes supported by Argent and The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band at the Stadium in Liverpool. A superb concert. To be honest hadn't heard a lot of Yes before the concert but I have been a huge fan ever since. The last encore was " Yours Is No Disgrace" which blew me away and it has been my fav Yes song ever since.
3 Genesis at The Liverpool Empire on the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway tour. This was simply amazing, the only downside was the album had only been released a few days before the gig so no-one knew the songs that well, but still a great gig from my fav band and Peter Gabriel's last tour with them
4 John Martyn at The Mountford Hall in Liverpool. Just him, a stool, and a table for his beer and spliff and a bunch of amazing songs. The only thing was everyone was sitting on the floor for the whole gig and sitting cross-legged on a wooden floor for 2 hours is not recommended
5 Rammstein at the NEC in Birmingham. Quite simply the best stage show I have ever seen, it was mind blowing, i took a friend who had never even heard and Rammstein music and she loved it.
OMG I have just realised I have not included Prince, Motorhead, Deep Purple, The Stones, Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney (when he was good ) etc. Such a tough choice, but i guess that is why I asked

Tough one, Colb. Here's my list. 1 - Paul McCartney at The Hallenstadion Zurich in 1989. Amazing! His first tour since The Wings UK Tour 1979. It coincided with the release of the album „Flowers In The Dirt“. Paul McCartney played a great 3-hours set. The 60’s had manifested themselves again with a vengeance! A good and positive time was had by all. 2 - Yes at The Piazza della Riforma Lugano in 2004. Original line-up. Progressive rock at its best and finest. Simply perfect! 3 - Roger Waters at The Hallenstadion Zurich in 2011. He performed Pink Floyd’s musical extravaganza “The Wall” in its entire length. The spectacle lasted 2 ½ hours. All songs of “The Wall” were newly arranged and presented to the audience with a new lease of life. The show ended on this climax with a standing ovation! Intense experience. 4 - Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel at The Hammersmith Odeon London in 1975. They just had their huge hit « Come Up And See Me » and played material from their three albums. The supporting band was Sailor which at that time played for the very first time a rough version of their later massive hit „A Glass Of Champagne“. Exciting sets. 5 - Shakin‘ Stevens at The Volkhaus Zurich in 2019. Love Shaky and all his stuff. He was such a huge star in the 80’s. They were ready for him. And vice versa. Newly arranged songs from that particular era plus songs from his two latest albums. Great concert with good clean fun. And yes, I did not include Dire Straits, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, The Stranglers etc.

Excellent choices Martin, apart from one, but of course thats just my opinion. There are so many I missed out, as Martin said it is a tough choice. Not one of my favs but I went to see Neil Diamond in Manchester about 15 years ago and I was amazed how many of his songs I knew and he was superb. I also missed out The Stranglers, Jethro Tull, Meat Loaf, The Clash, Wishbone Ash, Roxy Music at The Empire Liverpool supported by some unknown group called Queen, who to this day are one of my blind spots, I just do not get Queen, like a couple of their songs but apart from that, I can see why people love them but they just leave me cold.

Thanks Colb.
I regretfully never managed to see Neil Diamond live.
Queen are a kind of a blind spot too. I like some of their songs but that's it. It just doesn't click.

1 – Graham Nash at The Volkshaus Zurich in 2018. The English Gentleman and music legend played timeless and appealing songs from his Hollies and C,S,N & Y period. Plus memorable contributions from his solo albums. Good communication with the audience. A three piece band made up of Graham plus two fellow musicians. Never thought that they could pack so many classics into a 2 ½ hours set. Loved it! Graham closed the night with a terrific rendition of The Beatles' „A Day In The Life"!
2 – Roxy Music at The Hallenstadion Zurich in 2001. Amazing! Original line-up. Art rock at its best and finest. Pure perfection! I didn’t expect the band to be that good. They did outdo themselves by far. A strong set consisting of Roxy’s musical wealth as well as of Bryan’s solo stuff! Impressive mix and great showmanship! Very positive memories.
3 – Sting at The Hallenstadion Zurich in 1986. He performed songs from The Police’s musical catalogue as well as new songs from his recently released solo album „The Dream Of The Blue Turtles“. Cool set. Sting was in excellent spirits!
4 – The Stranglers at The Volkshaus Zurich in 1978. A musically tight performance. They played material from their albums „Rattus Norvegicus“, „No More Heroes“ and „Black And White“. The supporting band was 999. Good clean fun! Never laughed so much!
5 – Jeff Lynne’s ELO at The Hallenstadion Zurich in 2016. The landing of ELO’s spaceship provided us with a fantastic and unforgettable evening. A great 2 hours set taking us back to the glorious past of this unique band. Thanks Jeff!

Never seen Graham Nash but loved C,S,N,Y. I saw Roxy Music in liverpool very early on, support band was a then unknown Queen, who are another band who leave me cold. I like their first 2 albums but after that no thanks. Loved the Police and Sting's solo work but never saw them live, or the Stranglers who I also like. I saw ELO in 2016 as well, must have been on the same tour, always loved them.
