Thanks so much for the video clips, Chris -- those were really fun! I particularly enjoyed the Muswell Hillbillies rendition. Who is that other guitarist? The other guitarist is James Walbourne, who with Kami Thompson was the support act (The Dead Flamingoes). James was also with Ray at the Meltdown Festival doing full moon (here's a clip . Kami is the daughter of Richard and Linda Thompson. I'm not a 100% certain and I don't want to be responsible for spreading rumours but I've a feeling Kami and James got married on Saturday

Ah, I don't seem to have any problems with Photobucket, Chris - that's where all the photos I post come from... Thanks for clearing that up! I knew Ray had done Celluloid Heroes and A Long Way From Home at one of his recent shows! You're right about Kami and James - Ray mentioned it at his York show last night I did have a lovely time last night, in fact, I think last night was the best show of the three I've seen so far. Great audience and Ray really does seem to have been enjoying himself onstage during this tour I got to to the venue early last night, and a few of us caught Ray before he went in to do his soundcheck (must've been at about 5.30pm.) When he took my hand he commented that I was cold and should get myself inside - bless him! I managed to get another autograph after the show, but no photo with him this time There was rather a lot of fans waiting, and it was really cold, so one of his crew (his driver I think?) kept trying to hurry things along and get Ray into the car. It was fun meeting more fans and a group of us went to the pub for a couple of hours before the show. I managed to secure a table next to a lovely open fire - god job as it really was cold last night! Anyway, I managed to get another set list last night, and from reading it I can tell you that Ray had obviously planned to play YRGM and Misfits, but he didn't - we did get Tired Of Waiting though, which wasn't written down. Songs from last night, in this order - This Is Where I Belong Autumn Almanac Dedicated Follower Of Fashion In A Moment See My Friends Dead End Street Victoria (full version) Reading from X-Ray 20th Century Man Til The End Of The Day Where Have All The Good Times Gone? Tired Of Waiting Waterloo Sunset Muswell Hillbillies Oklahoma USA Full Moon All Day And All Of The Night Sunny Afternoon Lola Days Here's a pic of Ray onstage last night - And outside after the show -

Oh, I mentioned tRacY earlier in this thread Tourist! I sent her an email with a pic of Ray's flowers in my kitchen - I wanted her to know that they'd gone to a good home! Have you sent the two photos tRaCy's put on her Facebook page, of a few of us with my Lola? - including you! She's a lovely lady and good fun too! I hope I get to see the both of you at more Ray shows in the future! Oh, and are you still busy educating those students of yours about the great Ray Davies? ;D

Sleepy, you know what Ray sang in the 70s.......Everybody needs an education! This week is all about "What did you do on the holidays?" They tell me what they did, and I tell them what I did. We exchange info in the target language.

This weekends shows have been so much fun! Ray really does seem to have been enjoying this tour a lot and seems to have been in great spirits at all the shows I've been to. I managed to get another setlist from the Birmingham show on Saturday, so from that I can see that he'd planned to play YRGM but we didn't get that - we did get Apeman and Come dancing though! This is the set list from Birmingham - (This might not quite be in order as I'm not 100% sure where Apeman and Come Dancing came in.) This Is Where I Belong Autumn Almanac Dedicated Follower Of Fashion In A Moment Apeman See My Friends Dead End Street Victoria (Full) Reading from X-Ray 20th Century Man Till The End Of The Day Where Have All The Good Times Gone? Tired Of Waiting Come Dancing A Long Way From Home Waterloo Sunset Muswell Hillbillies Oklahoma USA Sunny Afternoon I'm Not Like Everybody Else (instrumental) All Day And All Of The Night Days After the show a few of us went to go and wait for Ray. Unfortunately the area where he was coming out had a big locked gate blocking it off. It was really cold and some people left after nearly an hour. In the end there was just me, Dawn and Susan, and a youngish lad who was hoping to get an autograph. When Ray finally came out we saw him get into his car and someone came and opened the gates. We'd been waiting a long time and thought we weren't going to get to talk to him as he was in his car, but as he came out through the gates he must've said something to his driver as the car suddenly stopped and Ray wound the window down and beckoned for us to come over I had unscrewed Lola's sunvisor for him to sign. He looked a bit confused at first as to what it was, but smiled when I told him it was from his old car. He did sign it and asked me 'Is the car still going along alright?' so I told him she is I thought that was really good of him to stop, as he didn't have to. Yesterday's show in Nottingham was one of my favourites so far. Ray made a point of saying when he was onstage that he was in a really good mood I didn't get a setlist this time so I can't say what was added/omitted but he played more songs then he has at the other shows I've seen - basically the same as above, but without Come Dancing, and with YRGM and I Need You. I managed to get to Nottingham really early so I found the stage door and hung around there for some time. Ian came out for a cigarette so I managed to have a quick chat with him - he was very friendly and seemed happy to talk for a few minutes Susan and Dawn sadly missed Ray as they had to go meet someone but I caught him coming out to his car. I was really happy when he squeezed my arm and grinned as he walked past and said 'Nice to see you'. I chanced asking him for a photo and he was nice enough to oblige. He said 'Have you brought the car with you?' (Obviously meaning Lola) and I told him I take her to all his shows I go to! He also told me to go and warm up inside and get a coffee - bless him! This is the photo - I thought I might not catch him again after the show as there were a lot of people waiting but I did get chance. I have to say that Ray has been really lovely to all the fans that wait for him. Even when his staff try and usher him into the car he still continues to chat, pose for photos and sign stuff - I personally haven't seen him turn anyone away. Just as he was about to get in the car I asked if I could give him a hug (been wanting to do that everytime I've seen him!) so I found myself flinging my arms around him and giving him a big hug. As I gave him a hug he said rather quietly into my ear - 'I'll have to come take a look at the car some time.' I just have one more show now...Liverpool on Wednesday.

Thanks Kinkcan! Yes, after the shows I fear that Ray may take out a restraining order against me! ;D
I'm looking foward to the show in Liverpool tommorow, but I feel a little sad that it's the last one I'll be attending.
