We need these substantive threads on great artists were true discoveries can be made by even longtime fans of various acts and new fans can be fostered! I guess I'm being fostered then! ;D Yep, and you are all grown up and have your own home at that sleepwalker!

Sleepwalker, they used to play that one in some commercial here; I think a coffee commercial? I'm confused now because in thinking back, there was a singer in the commercial singing the song who looked like David Bowie? Even then, I knew that wasn't Bowie's song!

The most 'obvious' ELO song to me is 'Don't Bring Me Down' because it was played so much here! I love it! But, I was a kid in the 70s and mostly picked up songs from radios playing around the house. This is 'The ELO' song from my youth; the one that was in my head for many a time!

I hope I won't get in trouble for going a little off subject here but I actually got VGPS after hearing Picture Book on a camera advert (our word for commercial!) years ago. I thought - that song is awesome! I would be suprised it that was Bowie in the advert you saw!

It was many years ago and from memory, it did look like Bowie! Maybe he was in a ChangeBowie phase where he changed the songs up on us by miming someone else's!

The IBM commerical here for 'I'm Not Like Everybody Else' a few years ago was also an attention grabber and hopefully gained some new fans!

I think adverts often get people into some great bands, I hope I'm Not Like Everybody Else being on that ad inspired at least a few folks to check out The Kinks. I also heard Shangri-La on an advert many years ago and I loved it. These adverts definately helped me discover The Kinks, I only had a couple of compilations at the time. Oh, and here's another E.L.O Video! Evil Woman - Another great song!
