Dave Edmunds - I Hear You Knocking The greatest British roots-rocker ever. Talented musician. Excellent producer. Incredible arranger. Very good friend of Nick Lowe. Let's start off this new fascinating thread with his biggest hit from 1970. Enjoy!

Thanks for the thread Martin! Since you started with Edmunds covering another artist, here is a note for note cover of Edmunds which was an almost equally big hit in America (and presumably gave Edmunds the most moolah for royalties as the writer ). Queen Of Hearts - Juice Newton Jucie has a great voice but she unexplicably disappeared from the limelight in the early 90s; seems I read something about performance anxiety plagues her? She also notably covered 'Angel Of The Morning'.

Here's another country rockingish number from the same period (early 80s); from Musical Shapes which was a Rockpile album with Carlene Carter.
Baby Ride Easy - Dave Edmunds & Carter duet

Here's a couple of Rockpile tunes from their tribute ep to The Everly Brothers. I like their cover of 'Take A Message to Mary' a lot but couldn't find a clip . When Will I Be Loved/Cryin' In The Rain - Rockpile

I love the later Dave Edmunds. "A Better Word for Love" is one of my favorites. Can't find a YouTube link, but it's great.
