Any film with Eddie Izzard in it CAN'T be bad!!
Julie Taymor certainly has chutzpah. I wonder if she knew about the Cirque de Soleil "Love" project when she embarked upon this -- there are bound to be similarities. And at least Cirque used original Beatle recordings. Consdering the number of individuals (myself included) who have VERY DEFINITE mental images connected with every song in the Beatles catalog, to put literal visuals to them is a risky business. But hey, why not have a go?
I wish someone would give ME a few million dollars to put all MY Beatle fantasies on the big screen...

I've watched a few of the trailers and the musical arrangements seem quite good. Taymor is very imaginative and the visuals look cool, too. Let's see if it all hangs together well as a whole.
Heh. 'Moulin Rouge' on acid.
;D

Moulin Rouge needed a pane or two. What was up with that film?

One big boring series of music videos. Some splashy visuals here and there, but yea, what was that? 'ATU' looks far more promising.

Guess I'm a little nervous that we seem to be into a Sixties nostalgia groove (check out Sienna Miller's new flick/write-up & pix in THE GUARDIAN) & those who WEREN'T there will think it was something like Ms. Taymor's vision...instead of like MY memories. ;D I'm still waiting for "80 DAYS" to make it to the big screen! ;D

I know! I know! If I can remember THE SIXTIES, I wasn't really there...but I WAS!
