I thought I'd post some pictures from yesterdays Kinks Konvention at the Boston Arms in London.
Obviously it was great but I was very unwell. I was in no fit state to attend the Konvention really but against my better judgement I did I sure payed for it last night and today though
Anyway, I've never been to one of the Konventions or seen the Kast Off Kinks before but it was great! I think it might've been an extended line up this year. The band played sets with different members, present were -
Dave Clarke, John Dalton, John Gosling, Mick Avory, Bob Henrit, Jim Rodford, Ian Gibbons and Mark Haley.
Here are some photos that my friend Pete took -
Mick singing Dedicated Follower Of Fashion
And here's a photo of me with Mick ( I also posed for a photo with John Gosling but for some reason it didn't show up on the camera I was pretty disappointed as I was giving him a big hug! )
I met some really nice people there - I wish I'd got more photos. Here is one with me, Lola and a lady I met called Susan
I was stood right up to the stage near the keyboard for a lot of the show so I had an amazing view most of the time. Ian said hello to me and Pete and we had chance to tell him how much we were enjoying the music And when Mark Haley had finished his set I was cheeky enough to ask him for one of his song sheets ;D He was very nice and let me have a Big Sky sheet. I managed to get it signed by Mick, Jim and John Gosling.
I haven't yet watched or uploaded any of the videos Pete took, but hopefully there will be some good ones that I can post here within the next couple of days.
The band played some great stuff, obviously things you'd expect like Lola, YRGM, Come Dancing, Dead End Steet, Celluloid Heroes etc, but also stuff like Jukebox Music, You Can't Stop The Music, Maximum Consumption, Strangers and Somebody Stole My Car
