Just to prove that sometimes we DO listen to bands that have had their debut album in the past ten years....
1. Death Cab for Cutie 2. The Decemberists 3. Gomez 4. Rilo Kiley 5. The Kaiser Chiefs

What, Tom? No Bottle Rockets? No Exploding Hearts? Smiley, I love Modest Mouse too! I would have put them in except their first album was more than 10 years ago. Same deal with Fountains of Wayne -- they missed the cut because they're too old to be a New Young band. Also, somebody told me that Village Green has broken up already.

Just to prove that sometimes we DO listen to bands that have had their debut album in the past ten years.... Unfortunately I can't prove it because I don't! I was born 40 years late.

What, Tom? No Bottle Rockets? No Exploding Hearts? The Bottle Rockets are most awesome but they've been around since 1993. The Exploding Hearts formed in 2003 and all but one member died in a car crash later that year. There's a very fun Chicago band called Even In Blackouts (they are an acoustic punk band, get it? ;D) that I really like and the New Pornographers are interesting as well. Thea Gilmore and Kasey Chambers have put out good stuff. And like Mr.L I love the Hives. Especially the Tyrannasaurus Hives cd.

I'm with Nancy and Iñaki, a hopeless case of nostalgia.
My daughter makes me hear new sounds though, sometimes I like them, but I don't know who they are.
Iñaki is making me a compliation of Fountains of Wayne, and that's going to be like a big step forwards.

I did like panic at the disco for awhile and the killers. Most of the other stuff I listen to is goofy dance music with Timberland and the like. I really do think though that I was supposed to be a child of the 60's.

You'll like FOW, Luis -- they sound like a 60s band anyway. Why else do you think Inaki likes them?
Panic! at the Disco are fun, Nancy. We listen to them a lot at our house. Also The Hives have been growing on me. it's gonna take an ocean of calamine lotion...
