Does anybody have any knowledge about the Kinks 1965 tour? I know I saw them in Richmond, Virginia, although this date isn't listed in the Doug Hinman book The Kinks. I remember the show clearly, but I can't remember the date. Also, and this is the other thing I am really foggy about: I think they were a replacement band for the Hullabaloos, who had dropped out of Gene Pitney's Shower of Stars - the Richmond gig. I could be very wrong, but this is the best my memory can do. This is important. I have a memoir finishing, and I want the exact date for this segment of the book. Help?

Dave references Gene Pitney (1965) on pg 60 of KINK but they were in the UK... For the US tour in '65, Dave only mentions NY & CA. Sorry!

Thank you to those of you who offered leads for my research question. I am still pursuing this one. I know I'll find my answer soon. In the meantime, it's been fun reading through the many postings. This is a great site for an old Kinks fan. Kevin in Kansas

You know what they always say -- if you can remember the 60s clearly, you weren't there!
