I'm glad that you enjoyed the Hippo Campus uncleson! It's one of the nice gems I've found watching MTVU. It makes me feel a little younger watching what the college crowd is in to! I've posted some others on the prior page. The Best of the Primitives was the best penny I ever spent! I've actually just got a 2cd set of their rawer indie label stuff in 1986-1987; which includes rawer versions of some their major label hit albums therafter. I've just found out about a similar but very short lived Brit band the Flatmates. I think they only had a few smash singles in the UK and not even a proper album. Here's one of those singles; Shimmer - The Flatmates

I'm listening to this mod band from the punk rock and new wave era that draws comparison to Ray and Weller. They're the Television Personalities and here are a few standouts from 'and don't kids just love it'.

John, Television Personalities display a heavy mid to late Sixties Kinks influence!
Thanks for posting. Hope all is well

Hey uncle! Thanks for taking the time to watch! I'm glad you enjoyed those. Yes, I had read some reviewers of the Television Personalities who talked in such Britcentric terms that they referenced Townshend and Davis!
Things are going pretty well, and my dad has had some good things happen recently!

Tim and I are really enthralled by a new band called DMAs who sound like they are back in the early 90s when the Britpop thing and Madchester sound were catching fire; despite the fact they are Aussies and very much creating music in the present! Here is a cool mini-concert on a ship! Stones Roses, Oasis, Inspiral Carpets, and The Enemy are the bands name dropped on this band quite often (esp. Oasis!). I will probably put up individual videos but this concert clip captures their best offerings and shows they have it together live!

DMAs - Live Set from Channel V Island Parties 2016 I sure enjoyed this clip, John -- thanks for posting! They have a great poppy sound and it was fun to see how much the crowd was into their gig!
