So glad to be back on line! I've been away for a few days -- had some surgery on Thursday (scary stuff, but sailed through with flying colors) but my internet connection went out the night before I went into the hospital. Bad timing! Got home Sunday and finally got an IT in to fix it today. What a relief!
No, 16, I decided to let him continue in his illusion that he is the greatest pop star in the world.
I didn't say much to him. He walked into our church, where I was sitting at the front desk, welcoming visitors. I told him (and his wife Nancy) that they were welcome to go inside but they'd have to be quiet because the children were rehearsing their annual Christmas pageant. Paul nodded and gave me a thumbs' up and ducked quickly through the doors. I think he wanted to slip past me entirely, afraid that he'd be recognized and have a fuss made. So I tried to play it cool and act like he was just another tourist wandering in off the street.
When they left, I waved and said "Come again." He had his back to me, hurrying outside, but his wife waved back and smiled. (She seems really nice and normal -- a good thing for him.) Then someone else from the church ran after him and called out his name and tried to drag him back in and invite him to Christmas services. Paul said they had other plans, but he did pull out a huge wad of cash and ask if he could make a donation to the church. Like he felt shaken down.
I believe in letting celebrities have their privacy when you run into them in non-performance situations. I've seen Ray on the street and didn't call out his name because he looked so relaxed, thinking he was anonymous. Wasted opportunities, I suppose, but that's how I'd like to treated if I were -- I mean, when I am -- famous.
A close encounter of the me-cockoff kind? Wow.. So cool for you holl. Love that in my banger sistah! And he's ya other boyah! Yea, it's not cool to hang on the celebs. I don't know why peeps get so starstruck and freeky but I've seen it happen. It's starting To happen to Kevin LoL after shows and it's starting to flip him out a little. He says he can't even imagine what it's like for the likes of Ray or Paul.
