"The Lives of Others" was extraordinary. One of the best I've seen in quite a few years.

[Go watch the German movie "The Life of Others" (Not "Others peoples lives" as Seanie pointed out to me). That was truly Brilliant.. A grammy winner in OUR HEARTS! ;D I'm also looking for a "GROWN-UP" point of view on BORAT, as I don't think I can truly trust the opinion of my 16year old on that one!

We thought Borat was hilarious. If you've seen Da Ali G show, you pretty much know what to expect.

Stick with us sistah and we'll steer you to all the grittiest B&W cinema. Watched King and Country last night good one, Tom Courteney excellent as always, although the movie is depressing it's a neccesary subject Special Heads Up: Look Back In Anger is on Turner Classic Movies Sunday March 18 at 8 pm ET

I loved Borat. I thik it was the funniest film out this year. I was prepared, though. I had seen Da Ali G Show, so I was familiar with Cohen's taste for the extreme. I agree, Nic... all that you said !

I saw "The Illusionist" recently, Ed Norton and Paul Giamatti just make this film.. great scenery and cinematography, not to mention a wonderful plot--romance

Oh well, Rosie Lea, I'm sure it was good on DVD, too. I saw "Venus" this afternoon starring Peter O Toole. A wonderful performance by O'Toole and the rest of the cast was quite good too. A rare, non sentimental look at growing older. It has been sold here as a comedy, when it is actually a well written, directed and acted drama.

Thanks Nic, I've been debating about Venus. Now I need to check and see if it is still in town. I can't stand it when things are sugar coated.
