At a certain point, trained, accomplished musicians hit the wall . They don't go there very often, they don't have the tools to go through the wall, because it's the end of notes. It's the other side, where there's only tone, sound, ambience, landscape, earthquakes, pictures, fireworks, the sky opening, buildings falling, subways collapsing... When you go through the wall, the music takes on that kind of atmosphere, and it doesn't translate the way other music translates. When you get to the other side, you can't go back. I don't know too many musicians who try to go through the wall... I love to go through the wall. -Neil Young

I never thought being the producer was being the dictator. It means being the director and being the coach. It's a way of keeping everybody focused on the goal and also having final say. Everybody can be in the same car, but somebody has to drive.

Love this thread, been reading through it and lots of great quotations. Trying to add some of my own but it seems like most of the classic ones are here. Will find some in the end, though i will have to read all this thread as I dont want to repeat any.

Thanks Colb. I tried to come up with different rock quotations whenever possible. Look forward to your contribution.

“From David Niven's autobiography, Bring on the Empty Horses. Director Mike Curtiz to David Niven & Errol Flynn: "You lousy bums, you and your stinking language, you think I know f**k nothing, well let me tell you— I know f**k ALL!” Hope this is ok, not sure about your rules? If it is not allowed i apologise. Oops, just realised this is not a rock quotation sorry

Here is a proper rock quotation “My son Jack just got out of rehab, he’s 17 years old and he got hooked on Oxycontin and I’m just a little pissed off that he never gave me a few.” Ozzy Osbourne - 2003
