Wow, the Kinks would have had a lot of singles if they'd taken our advice here! But frankly, not every song will work as a single. It needs to have a certain amount of commercial appeal; it also needs to suit the market tastes of the time when it is released. The Kinks did make a few mistakes in that regard -- didn't always read the market right -- but in general I think they had a good idea of which songs wouldn't sell to the singles-buying audience. So unless anybody has an urgent addition to this thread, perhaps we can let it die off. Simply posting title of Kinks songs we like -- well, we could do that all day!
