I don't know about you but I don't always think the singles released from albums are the right ones. For example ... Rock n Roll Cities? (Surely The Video Shop would have been a better choice from Think Visual). So here's another ... Loony Balloon from UK Jive should have been the single.
Other suggestions ... ?

I would have liked to have seen Party Line and Powerman released as singles in the USA

Rock n' Roll Cities, Yes, Very stong... but is was released in the US W/ Sleazy Town I disagree about Loony Ballon, Sorry. Big Black Smoke was a "B" side in the states thought it was strong enough to live on it's own and to this date still one of my very fav's. Can't Stop Music.. was released in UK not US Living on a Thin Line (Yes, Ray can bash me on the head -- LOL!!) PS.. Yes, good choices there Uncleson!!!

I'll never understand why "Permanent Waves" wasn't released as a single.
Great guitar hook, fantastic (and hilarious) lyrics, Dave's outstanding lead and killer harmonies.
Stranger yet - going by the bonus tracks on the Misfits CD, it seems most of the other songs had "single cuts"

Uncleson, Rock N Roll Cities was an A-side in the US! It's the last single I heard by the Kinks on commerical radio and it made #37 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks! I remember this period well because I had just become a Kink's fan in the summer of 83' as a result of Come Dancing/State of Confusion!
