Very slim at the moment. It's toward the end of the school term and the kids might be in the thick of research papers and exams, etc. I can thoroughly recommend distance-learning ;D

Well, they wouldn't have been coming with me -- and when the cat's away the mice have a tendency to disco all night.

I know what you mean, Holly.
That's why I can't make it to the RAH. Not the discoing all night, but the fact that the rescheduled gigs come slap-bang in the middle of A levels here. I was going to take daughter to London for the first time...

To know that the arbiter of Ray's board is someone so arbitrary and full of spite against Ray makes it hard for me to stay there out of pure principle. O top of this is that "cancer" we got in there; our own disgraceful little Mark Chapman. Still, I hate the fact that our community is split into two. It's a real shame. You hit the nail on the head Luis.. this is why I had to leave. The KARMA was -10. The comments and mud slinging was so profoundly hurtful that I had to make the exodus. The admin could have and did not stop him. For what I have seen he continues to swat at the hornets nest today. AS for for the division, this IS the saddest part of all. London will be a good time to revive and come together again. I truly hope you decide to use your ticket. ;D MORE KARMA for eveyone.. BTW it doen't always come up once and hour for me???

We will get back together. I feel it will take a new board, a completely fresh start, with a new and impartial moderating team (although I am in no way digging at Martin; he has done a good job up to now in keeping the smooth running of the board and the spammers at bay, and strikes me as a thoroughly likeable chap.) It would be better to have someone at the helm who has no personal involvement. I was thinking, in the silent watches of the night, how bizarrely it all came about... an innocent complaint about the slowing-running server was all it took for the board to fall apart. Up until then - well, as they say, ignorance is bliss I suppose. It still makes me very sad. For what it's worth, I would like to see Martin running a 'Kinks' forum as I think it would be very successful. Dave's forum is unique; he has given it his own stamp, and we need our Ray forum to continue - I would happily frequent all three. I'm rambling. Sorry.

Ramble on, Jenny. You make excellent sense.

You didn't ramble, Jenny. You expressed it well and I agree with everything you say. Hopefully we will get a new board with an impartial moderator soon, and Martin can have the Kinks board that he wants.

Keep up bringing up the past Jenny... Please don't bring past events over here...Thats what ruined the other board. People please think before you post. I think at this time it would take more than a new board to mend some fences here & there. I'm pretty digusted over the whole mess! We will get back together. Well, its official , no Ray in May for me. Disney on May 13 with the kiddies and First Holy Communion on the 5th for my eldest. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I guess I gotta wait til he comes back stateside. Hoping one of the brothers makes it back to philly.
Maybe we can party in the states if we miss the May gig

I don't think you posted anything inappropriate at all, Jenny. Since you moderate another board, you have more knowledge about these things than many of us. I appreciated your comment. I can't see how it would bring any bad thing to this board. And I think that if we simply ignore the past, we may be doomed to repeat it.

I can't see how it would bring any bad thing to this board. And I think that if we simply ignore the past, we may be doomed to repeat it. And for what it's worth, neither do I. Jenny's post is very much about looking forwards. And it certainly isn't the only post on here that makes reference to past events on the other forum. If there is one lesson to be learned from our experience it is surely not to criticise others so personally and publicly. I share Jenny's sentiments about needing a new board to bring everyone back together.

Thanks Em.
Thanks, Guest - glad you're so BIG that you've posted your name. I don't see that I warranted such a nasty and personal attack. Unfortunately I've now had it with some of the people on here. I shan't be back, on any Kinks-related board.
And Guest, you can go to hell. You need to take a good, hard look at yourself before you start accusing anyone else of causing 'mess'. You have shot to pieces my enjoyment of these boards, permanently, whoever you are.
Hope you feel you've achieved something today, Big Man.
